From East Brisbane to Stones Corner
In 2015, the smug fig opened its doors for the first time in East Brisbane, tucked inside a leafy cottage garden nursery. That rustic, plant-filled setting gave it a casual, comfy feel that quickly made it one of Brisbane's most talked-about brunch spots.
Six years on, the smug fig moved to a new home in Stones Corner, right as the suburb was undergoing its own transformation into one of Brisbane's best food and lifestyle precincts. Now fully licensed, the smug fig kitchen & social offers a lot more than just brunch.
What Can You Expect?
All-day brunch and specialty coffee, seven days a week.
Our street-side coffee window serves coffee and eats on the go, with online ordering available so you can pre-order and pick up without the wait. If you're dining in, our all-day brunch menu runs from open until 3pm, Monday through Sunday — a full spread of breakfast and lunch dishes with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options clearly marked, backed by a fully licensed bar from 10am.
With around 90 seats, we're set up for large groups, and we've got dedicated dog friendly seating for your fur babies too.
Themed Trivia
On the last Saturday afternoon of every month, the smug fig transforms for our infamous themed trivia night. From Harry Potter to Friends, we deck out the whole venue to match that month's theme, with a special food menu and cocktail list to go with it. Best dressed wins a prize, so come as your favourite character.
Private Events & Functions
Got something to celebrate? The smug fig is available in the evenings for private events, with a range of canapé and drink packages and no venue hire fees. We cater for groups from 12 up to 130.
